其他TUL PowerColor AMD GPUs Adopted by Simple View Production Company The Beloved Stranger Selected as Opening Film of Golden Horse Awards and Nominated for 4 Awards including Best Visual Effects.

TUL Corporation (TWSE:6150), the professional graphics cards manufacturer, joins hands with Director Chang Tso-Chi Production Company to adopt PowerColor AMD graphics cards built on leading process technology for professional film editing. The Beloved Stranger, directed by Chang Tso-Chi and the first movie to be post-processed and edited with this system, has recently been filmed and completed post-production. It has been selected as the opening film of Golden Horse Awards 2019, and nominated for 4 awards including Best Visual Effects, Best Director, Best Leading Actress and Best Supporting Actor. The movie is expected to be released on November 15, 2019. TUL Corporation has been partnering with Chang Tso-Chi since 2018, supporting his production company with PowerColor AMD graphics cards built on advanced process technology. The high-performance graphics cards meet the studio's demanding requirements for editing fluency, visual effects, picture quality and color. “The Beloved Stranger presents realistic filming style. The soft picture explains the demand for warmer color tone. Graphics cards with high performance and advanced features are extremely important as the dimming processes cannot be operated with small file alternatives as normal editing. TUL PowerColor AMD GPU system allows the editing to run very smoothly, while meeting the lighting and coloring requirements of dimming process,” said Director Chang Tso-Chi. “I am excited for Director Chang Tso-Chi winning another recognition with his latest creation,” said Ted Chen, CEO of TUL. “The application of high-end graphics cards for image processing is becoming more and more diversified. AMD GPUs are leading the way in advanced processes, delivering higher performance and lower power consumption than the previous generation. PowerColor RX 5700XT series recently launched by TUL has been widely adopted and recognized by markets to power computer games, artificial intelligence and professional video editing applications. In the trend of 4K and 8K high image quality, high-performance graphics cards can provide content creation industry with visually rich and recognized video content in an extremely efficient work mode.” Chang Tso-Chi, born in 1961 and graduated from the Department of Theatre Arts in Chinese Culture University, had followed and worked with many famous film directors, including Yu Kan-Pi, Yim Ho, Tsui Hark, etc. Through working with these directors, he learned and improved himself consistently. Chang’s first film production, Midnight Gunshot, failed to release in Taiwan due to a certain reason. In 1996, he wrote and directed “Ah Chung”, a feature film about Ba Jia Jiang (Eight Generals), a religious ceremony in Taiwan. His adoption of nonprofessional actors as main casts drew the attention of international film festivals. In 1999, he directed “Darkness and Light”, in which he again used mostly nonprofessional actors to depict stories of the blind. The influence of film was so enormous that it wrote many records in Tokyo International Film Festival. Afterwards, director Chang shot a Hakka television drama series, and then applied that experience to his next film, “The Best of Times”, in summer of 2002. In 2007, director illustrates the struggle between familial love and humanity in “Soul of a Demon”. To fulfill his father’s wish, “Dad, How are you?” is shot in 2008. His next film work in 2010, “When Love Comes”, broke the record by being nominated for 14 awards, 4 of which were awarded to the film. In 2011, director made a historical war short film, “Sparkles”, and another short film, “Love is Missing”, to pay his tribute to director Hou Hsiao Hsien’s classic A City of Sadness. In 2015, his latest film, “Thanatos, Drunk” is selected into Berlin International Film Festival Panorama Section.
