其他TUL Joins Hands with NTUST to Develop Smart Manufacturing Operation Services for SMEs

Professional graphics card manufacturer TUL Corporation (TWSE:6150) and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) have recently set up TUL-NTUST Smart Manufacturing Laboratory to jointly develop relevant technologies and operating service models required by the Industry 4.0 generation. In the future, the joint research and development results will be introduced into the industry to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in industrial upgrading and transformation.

"The U.S.-China trade war and COVID-19 pandemic will reorganize the global supply chain. For Taiwan, it is both a crisis and a turning point. The demand for localized production will greatly increase, leading to a more urgent demand for intelligent, small quantity and diverse production model. However, most SMEs as the main body of Taiwan's industry are limited by their scale of operations and often lack sufficient resources to carry out technology research and development (R&D) and transformation work such as customized production, image recognition, automated manufacturing, and data analysis model development and integration required for smart production," said Ted Chen, CEO of TUL.

In view of this, TUL and Kung-Jeng Wang, NTUST's Distinguished Professor of Department of Industrial Management, jointly established the TUL-NTUST Smart Manufacturing Laboratory to integrate the powerful R&D capability of NTUST with the practical needs of the industry, and develop a smart manufacturing operation model and related technologies for SMEs. SMEs with relevant needs are welcomed to join the smart manufacturing transformation R&D and smart manufacturing operation.

“The R&D team of NTUST has continued to accumulate technical ability for smart manufacturing and operation in recent years, combined with the excellent product design capabilities of TUL to jointly develop the commercial system. In the future, we will provide SMEs with highly flexible and low-cost modular smart manufacturing solutions,” said Kung-Jeng Wang, Distinguished Professor of Department of Industrial Management of NTUST.

TUL is currently engaged in a number of industry-academic cooperation technologies with NTUST, including the integration of blockchain and IoT, information security, automated manufacturing process optimization, and AOI image recognition applications, etc. This joint establishment of TUL-NTUST Smart Manufacturing Laboratory can further provide experimental field for relevant research integration.
